Language courses in English, German, Spanish and French are one of the important employee benefits.

These coursesoffered by the rectorate of the Charles University in cooperation with the Language Center of the Faculty of Arts.

Classes lasting 90 minutes take place once a week and will take place 15 times in the spring block, starting in the week of 13/02/2024 (Profile courses for THP and academic staff) and in the week of 26/02/2024 (courses in English, German, Spanish and French).

The courses are free for Charles University employees.

It is possible to register for the spring block from 23.1. (Profile courses for THP and academic staff) and from 7.2. (English, German, Spanish and French courses) through the Education Portal.

It is absolutely necessary that before enrolling in English language courses, each applicant completes a placement test that evaluates their knowledge and, based on the test results, applicants enroll in a course of the appropriate level. Please save the test on your computer for future submission.

The profile course is intended for those who have knowledge of the English language according to the placement test at level B2 or higher.

Attendance at courses is closely monitored.

During the entire course, i.e. 15 lessons, 3 absences (unexcused and excused) are accepted. In case of 3 unexcused absences, the course participant will be excluded, in the case of excused absences they will always be assessed individually.

Language courses are intended for CU employees, and priority is given to interested parties who have not completed the course yet. If you have already completed 2 previous semesters and in the event that applicants who have not yet completed the course apply and the capacity is filled, you will be informed by email that you will not be able to complete the course. The reason is to make language courses available to the widest possible range of employees. Thank you for your understanding
