Join a practical workshop designed to help Ph.D. students discover and navigate research opportunities, from finding grants and conferences to establishing collaborations with international supervisors.
The course is divided into two parts: The first part, led by Zbyněk Mucha, a member of the Czech Association of Doctoral Researchers (ČAD), will focus on practical tips for applying for grants, staying "up to date" in the academic world, maintaining connections, and networking with international supervisors.
The second part, conducted by the Central Library of Charles University, will cover how to search for electronic information resources in the Charles University database. Participants will become acquainted with various databases of scholarly articles, electronic books and other ER tools available at CU. They will learn how to use advanced search strategies, receive practical tips for effective research, and gain insight into generic licensing conditions and how they relate to using ER at CU. This English-language workshop suits Czech and international Ph.D. students looking to enhance their research skills.
