Building insect hotels - Celebrating the Earth Day with the Charles University

Come to celebrate Earth Day with the Volunteer Centre!

All students and staff are invited to the event, which takes place on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 2 PM o approximately 6 PM.

In collaboration with the Pučmeloud Student Association, we will build one large insect hotel in the FHS community garden and several simpler smaller ones, which we will then hang from trees in the surrounding area.

Part of the day will aslo be reserved for an interesting lecture by Mgr. Petr Šípek, Ph.D. on the topic of Insects in the city.

On 23 April we will meet at 14:00 at Pátkova 2137/5, 182 00 Prague 8 in front of the entrance to the Faculty of Humanities.

It is recommended to bring clothes suitable for outdoor work, sturdy shoes and water. Tools, materials and gloves will be provided, however, feel free to bring your own tools and gloves if you'll be able to work more comfortably.
