This workshop will address the growing concern of burnout among Ph.D. candidates. Participants will explore the primary causes of burnout in doctoral studies, including unrealistic expectations, lack of work-life balance, isolation, and self-imposed pressure to excel.
The session will also debunk common myths, such as the belief that burnout only affects "weak" individuals or that pushing through it will resolve the issue. Truths about burnout, including its potential long-term health impacts and the importance of seeking support, will be highlighted. Practical prevention strategies, as well as recognizing early warning signs of burnout, will be part and parcel of the workshop. Participants will gain insights into maintaining their well-being and productivity throughout their doctoral journey.
