International Volunteer Day: Christmas Giving and Community Gathering

The Volunteer Centre of Charles University is organising a charity event to celebrate International Volunteer Day, and we warmly invite the entire university community to take part.

As part of the celebrations, we are joining the Shoebox Gift Collection (Krabice od bot), a long-standing charitable initiative founded by the Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren. The project collects Christmas gifts for children in need and helps bring joy to them during the holiday season.

You can donate a shoebox filled with Christmas gifts for children between 25 November and 2 December.

Please note that 2 December is the final deadline for delivering shoebox gifts, so that all presents can be distributed to children in time for Christmas. Donations can be dropped off at CU Point, Celetná 13, Prague 1.

To mark International Volunteer Day, we will gather in the lobby of CU Point during the festive pre-Christmas season. There will be time to pause, relax, and enjoy making a handmade craft in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

We look forward to welcoming you and celebrating the spirit of volunteering and solidarity together.
