Join this lecture to explore common career dilemmas faced by PhD candidates and graduates and to gain practical perspectives on academic and non-academic paths.

Ondřej Málek (Faculty of Law, Charles University) will offer several viewpoints on (non)academic careers and what it takes to build them.

Topics include:

• Setting your career direction: what to consider and how to decide

• Who tends to thrive in academia—and who may be better suited outside it

• What it takes to grow an academic career (skills, mindset, strategy)

• How to build a career beyond academia: transferable skills, positioning, and next steps
